Web Design Tips

Your website should be exactly that, your website, which means the design should reflect you company in layout, colour, branding and style.
At Underlink website developers we try to gain as much insight into your business as possible to insure your website is a part of your company. Here are a few things for you to think about that may help you choose your personal custom design

Colours

What are your companies colours? What colours do your customers associate with your company, for example Halifax is blue and white,  Apple is white and grey. Make sure that you use your colours in the site the same way you use them for your branding. Remember that users will recognise your site if it looks like your brand. Familiarity is very important.

Layout
Think about the layout of your company, do have different branches, are you a small company or a large corporate business. This should reflect in your site. If you promote high quality and style, you will be better suited with a clean shiny website image with subtle fades and tinted shading. If you advertise being cheaper than most you will want to make that you focus by promoting this by demonstration.

Imagery
Do you have your own image libary that we can use to build you site, if not then think about what image you want to project are you a service, what type of images will best give an accurate snapshot of your business. For example, if you promote good service and support, you want images of friendly faces and people shaking hands on you home page not a picture of the front of your building.

Navigation

If your company has spate sections, so should your website, if your company promotes access for disability so should your website (larger fonts, clear colour contrasts). Your site should navigate clearly, categorise your information and make it easy to locate.
