6 Tips for getting better search rankings in Google
Nobody knows exactly how Google indexes its search results but there are some things that you can do to help boot your website up in the Google search engine rankings.
Tip 1. Google Page Rank.
This is the rank that Google gives your WebPages and can rank from 0 up to 10, again Google are very secretive on their method of ranking pages but basically you just need to be a good source of information, with lots of good sites linking to you and linking out to lots of other good websites.
Tip 2. Good content and lots of it! Your website should contain all good quality original content that is relevant to the topic of your site. Write information that people need and make sure all your spelling and grammar is correct. Your content should include the keywords that your target audience would search for but do not use them just for the sake of it make sure they are in context.
Tip 3. Press releases. There are hundreds of free PR websites out there that will publish news stories on their website, all you need to do is write a news article about your site, make sure that it is news and not just an advert or it won’t get published. Submit different versions of this PR to lots of PR sites and make sure you include links on keywords back to your website.
What this does is gives you link back to your site from a webpage that contains lots of good content all relevant to your site. Google sees this as a good back link.
Tip 4. Directory submissions. There are hundreds of free and paid directories that you can add your site to. Make sure you look at the directory first to make sure it is a good one. The older the better. Submitting to bad link farming directories will give you negative results.
Tip 5. Link building. Find other websites that rank high for keywords you are NOT using but are similar to your site, email them and carefully ask for a link to your site. The better the site the more impacted their link will have on your ranking. A link from a un-trusted site will negatively affect you.
